Harris appeared to be trending in the right direction after racking up 168 total yards across his last two games, but this performance was a step back and raises questions about his role after the team returns from a bye for a Week 7 matchup against the Rams.

Triple-digit scrimmage yards Sunday

Harris carried the ball 14 times for 71 yards and caught one of two targets for 32 yards in Sunday's 30-6 loss to the Texans.

Analysis: The running back actually led the Steelers in receiving yards on a day when the passing game struggled even before Kenny Pickett (knee) got sidelined, and Harris also set season highs in rushing and scrimmage yards for himself. After scoring 10 TDs in each of his first two NFL campaigns, Harris is still looking for his first score of 2023, but that could be a tall task in Week 5 against a Ravens defense that has yet to allow a rushing touchdown.

In any case, Harris' status is now worth monitoring as Sunday's game against the Lions approaches. Through eight games, the 2021 first-rounder has racked up 150 carries. In that span, no other Pittsburgh back has logged more than 10 carries.

Scores in Monday's victory

Harris rushed 22 times for 62 yards and a touchdown in Monday night's 29-27 win over the Bears. He also caught all three of his targets for 16 yards.
