Kmet failed to find the end zone after scoring five touchdowns over his previous three games, but he'll look to start a new touchdown streak when the Bears take on the Jets in Week 12.

No injury designation

Kmet (thigh) was a full practice participant Friday and doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game in Atlanta, Larry Mayer of the Bears' official site reports.

Analysis: Kmet was absent Wednesday and limited Thursday before ultimately logging a full practice Friday. He caught five touchdown passes the past three weeks after a 27-game streak without one, and while the TD parade can't last forever, he does face another subpar defense this Sunday, playing in a dome against the Falcons.

Analysis: One day removed from being held out Wednesday due to a thigh injury, Kmet returned to the field and managed to log some reps. Ultimately, Friday's practice report will reveal if he'll carry a designation into the weekend ahead of Sunday's contest in Atlanta. If he's able to suit up, Kmet will be looking to keep up his hot streak, which has amounted to an 11-126-5 line on 15 targets over the last three games.

Dealing with thigh issue

Kmet missed Wednesday's practice due to a thigh injury.

Analysis: Along with quarterback Justin Fields, Kmet has been on fire the past three games, gathering in 11 of 15 targets for 126 yards and five touchdowns during that stretch. His five touchdowns on the season places Kmet tied for second among true tight ends in the NFL, trailing only Travis Kelce (eight). There's no telling if Kmet's current health concern threatens his availability for Sunday's game in Atlanta, but his status will continue to be watched as the week goes on.

Two more trips to end zone

Kmet caught four of seven targets for 74 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 31-30 loss to the Lions.

Analysis: Justin Fields' sudden surge of passing production has benefitted Kmet the most -- of the quarterback's seven TDs through the air over the last three games, the tight end has been on the other end of five of them. Kmet's 74 yards were also a season high, although most of them came on a 50-yard touchdown in the third quarter on a busted coverage by the Detroit secondary. Two more scores in loss

Kmet secured five of six targets for 41 yards and two touchdowns and rushed twice for nine yards in the Bears' 35-32 loss to the Dolphins on Sunday.

Analysis: Kmet was second or tied for second in receptions, receiving yards and targets on the afternoon for the Bears, but his pair of touchdown grabs made it a prolific fantasy day overall for the previously struggling tight end. Kmet, whose scores came from 18 and four yards in the second and fourth quarters, respectively, now has three trips to the end zone over the last two contests, giving him plenty of momentum heading into a Week 10 home divisional matchup against the Lions.

Scores first touchdown of season

Kmet caught two passes for 11 yards and a touchdown in the Bears' 49-29 loss to the Cowboys on Sunday.

Analysis: Although Kmet had his lowest yardage output since Week 2, he finally found the end zone. With two or fewer catches in each of his last three games, he remains a a low-floor, low-upside fantasy option.

Analysis: Although Kmet has played at least 90 percent of the snaps in each of the last five games, he's been targeted no more than four times in any of those contests. With just 148 yards and no touchdowns through Week 7, he'll continue to have limited upside unless the Chicago offense begins to throw the ball more often.

Leading receiver in Week 3 win

Analysis: Kmet nearly doubled the receiving yardage total of Darnell Mooney, who finished second on the team with 23 yards. Analysis: Not only did Kmet see quite a bit of 49ers' coverage ace Fred Warner, the wet field was a disaster while intermittent heavy rain fell during the game. He'll look to get on track next week when Chicago travels to Green Bay.

Scores in preseason finale

Kmet caught three receptions for 36 yards and one touchdown on three targets in Chicago's preseason game against Cleveland on Saturday.

Analysis: Kmet's first two NFL seasons contained plenty of struggles, but he's still just 23 years old and possesses above-average athleticism at a big build. As much as the Bears might throw poorly and infrequently in 2022, Kmet's projection gets a boost for the fact that he might be the second-leading target behind Darnell Mooney.

Analysis: Kmet led the Bears in targets and he frequently had plenty of room to operate in the middle of the field, helping him post a solid yardage total. He was also open for a potential touchdown reception in the fourth quarter, but Justin Fields threw the ball behind where it needed to be, and the ball was knocked away. Although he hasn't scored all year, he's posted at least 41 yards in three of his last four games, and he'll be a potential fantasy starter for the duration of the fantasy playoffs.

Back on field

Analysis: Kmet was one of eight Bears who didn't take part in Thursday's walk-through session on account of an illness. All but one of those players returned to the field Friday as full participants, temporarily alleviating some concern about a team-wide COVID-19 breakout. With that in mind, Kmet looks in line to fill his normal role as the Bears' starting tight end Monday against the Vikings.
